Terms of Service

Last updated: September 9, 2026

These terms describe how the nod referral tool works. By using the service you agree to these terms.

1. What nod is

nod is software that helps a contractor track referrals: set one reward, share one link, and record when a referral is paid. nod is a record-keeping and communication tool only.

2. No money moves through nod

nod does not hold, transmit, escrow, or guarantee any referral reward. Any reward is paid directly by the contractor to the referrer, using the contractor's own payment method, entirely off-platform. "Mark paid" in the dashboard records the contractor's own statement that they paid — it does not move funds and is not a payment confirmation by nod.

3. Eligibility & referral confirmations

Referrers confirm their eligibility when a referral is created. Contractors and referrers are responsible for ensuring referrals comply with applicable law — including rules that restrict referral compensation to licensed real estate agents acting in that capacity, and rules involving insurance or restoration work on a claim. nod does not provide legal advice, and the contractor is responsible for the lawful operation of their own referral program.

4. The contractor subscription

Use of nod as a contractor may require a paid subscription of $79 per month or $790 per year, billed separately from any referral reward. Subscription billing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). The referral rail carries no fees and takes no cut of any reward. You may cancel at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use nod lawfully, to provide accurate information, to keep your account credentials secure, and not to misuse the service (for example, by sending unsolicited messages or attempting to disrupt the service).

6. Service "as is"; limitation

nod is provided "as is," without warranties, and the service's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Data and privacy

How nod handles personal information — including what is collected, how it is used, and how to delete a contact, a referral, or your entire account — is described in the Privacy Policy. That document also explains that AI-generated copy is processed by Anthropic and not used to train models, and that OAuth tokens for mailbox connections are encrypted at rest.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of nod after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
